When my friends Laura and Chris Amico started Homicide Watch DC two years ago, they wanted to improve local understanding of violent crime in the nation’s capital and create a place for the community to have intelligent and cathartic discussion about it.
They weren’t sure if the project would work, but the people of Washington DC have turned to Homicide Watch as their main information source for tracking every homicide in the nation’s capital from crime to conviction.
Now that Laura and Chris are leaving DC, they’re looking for a way to keep the site going.
In other words, they need our help.
Back the Homicide Watch DC student reporting lab on Kickstarter, and you’ll be supporting crime coverage in a city that needs this news source.
